A Little More About Us...

Finepoint was founded in 2011, by husband-and-wife team Jason and Yvette, but our journey began much earlier, 1990 in fact. Our history details over 35 years of unparalleled experience in the world of carpentry, across 3 different countries which has only deepened our passion for the craft.

 

The human relationship with wood is deeply ingrained from the dawn of time. It has protected us, it provides warmth, shelter; even the tools to transport it and work it; we naturally want to touch and feel it. This symbiosis lives on in the human experience and it constantly surprises in its beauty and utility, so it was not a difficult decision to share my work life with this incredible material.

Learning to work with this material is a life's work, its inconsistency and individual nature creates a need to a shared understanding of how and where its best placed. It cannot be forced or it fights back. It responds to principles established over millennia, by craftsman long since gone who's skills and experience have created a wealth of understanding more than a lifetimes worth, and a worthwhile pursuit for those of us in need of a daily challenge, who also need to step back at the end of each day and admire the amazing beauty and properties of this material. I will never do it justice but I hope to leave to the future the results of my experiences in this relationship.
